What drew me to this movie were the good reviews and Woody Harrelson. Count me in on any movie Woody is in. I’m not terribly familiar with Martin McDonagh movies, however after this one I might have to indulge a little more into his films. As for the other characters, I wasn’t familiar with them either, which in my eyes is good and bad in filming. I quite enjoy seeing fresh faces in movies I watch but in that, you can also get some bad acting, but lets be honest, even big names can have some bad acting from time to time.
Overall this story was fantastic from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, especially being something I wouldn’t typically watch (Thank you Movie Pass!) The acting by everyone was phenomenal, the writing, and directing was all fantastic. There wasn’t a single point I didn’t enjoy this movie.
My ONLY gripe with this movie is the ending and while I’m more than sure some people will love the ending I wasn’t convinced. I won’t give anything away but I struggle to come to terms with open endings and make what I want with it.
I would highly recommend this movie to anyone as it tells a great story, has fantastic filmography and directing, and the acting is just straight up good. I don’t thing poorly of movies when I have a gripe with something that I know others can enjoy. Go see this movie and see what you think!
